DID YOU KNOW

-  A small French settlement for most of its existence, Montreal was incorporated into the British Empire in 1763. It was one of the most important commercial and cultural centres in North America throughout the 19th and 20th centuries - even serving as the capital of the United Province of Canada from 1844 to 1849 - as successive waves of English, Irish and Scottish immigrants sailed across the Atlantic in search of a better life. Now the second largest city in Canada with a population of almost 1.9 million (over 3.6 million in the greater metropolitan region), Montreal is also the second largest French-speaking city in the world outside of France.

CompletelyCanadian.com Staff - Ken Brown

Ken Brown had the idea for CompletelyCanadian.com in 2005 when he realized that Canadians in the United States needed a one-stop resource for all things Canadian and Americans needed a site where they could learn about their Northern neighbor. His goal to unite the two cultures through the Internet became a reality in December 2006.

A native of the Montreal area, Ken is founder and president of K.W.B. International, a sales and marketing consultant group with offices in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Toronto, Canada. His interests include curling, photography and traveling. “One of my goals was to visit every continent,” he said. “Last year, I visited my last continent, Antarctica.”

Since 1991, he has called the United States home. Although he holds dual citizenship, Ken is grateful to be living the American dream. (He keeps a small American flag and a plaque commemorating the day he became a U.S. citizen on his fireplace mantel). “One of the great things about being in the United States is how many Canadians I meet here,” he said. “It’s amazing where you’ll find us—we’re everywhere!”

Besides his work with K.W.B. International and CompletelyCanadian.com, Ken was president of the Arizona chapter of the Specialty Advertising Association. He is a member of the Scottsdale Rotary Club and the Promotional Products Association International, and he volunteers with the Calgary Committee for the Phoenix Sister Cities Commission and has been its chair for the last two years.

Through CompletelyCanadian.com, Ken hopes to ignite interest in the country where he was born. “Canada has a lot to offer,” he said. “It’s a great place.”
